After graduating with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, I began my people based career, as a registered Nurse, where I learnt the most valuable lessons of my life, about human behaviour, vunerability and how to connect to others, in all rafts of circumstances and from a multitude of backgrounds. I dually learnt how to deal with life and death situations and developed an aptitude for strong assessment and observational skills, problem solving/ thinking on my feet and maintaining the calm in the storm, which has considerably influenced my approach in business and leadership.
As a natural transgression, I moved into a clinical Nurse educator role, where I was responsible for coaching and development for over 300 staff and jointly pioneered the DHB’s learning and development framework, including monetising programmes for the private health sector. My journey then took me to the UK , where I ran recruitment businesses regionally and spent +8 years running teams, developing strategy and running high performing businesses, in senior leadership roles. I returned to NZ in 2008 and have held Executive level roles, within the recruitment sector, with both Global and NZ owned businesses, prior to taking a leap of faith to found Fusion Partners. Fusion Partners is a passion project for Wayne and I, who believe business success is governed by the individuals you work with and not merely an organisation.
My career success has always been grounded in a desire to understand people and to influence their growth, solve business problems and love what I do.
My personal mantra ‘don’t start something you can’t finish’, ‘never accept mediocrity’ and ‘be the same and best version of yourself everyday’.
